Brand new construction on a historic thoroughfare.
Located near the edge of the historic French Quarter, this new 207-room hotel is a welcome and befitting neighbor. Prior to the construction of the Homewood Suites Hotel, an electrical supply warehouse occupied the entire block. The project involved extensive civil work, including the demolition of existing buildings, slabs, footing, and parking areas; installation of a 35,000-gallon subsurface water retention system; installation of the engineered crane pad for the erection of the precast building structure as well as site fill, grading, and concrete paving of the lobby and parking garage.
Completed in 2016, the entire 160,000-square-foot, four-story structure—including all walls and floors—is innovatively formed from pre-cast concrete panels. In addition to a central courtyard and swimming pool, meeting rooms, and a fitness room, each suite features a fully equipped kitchen and separate areas for living, working, and sleeping.
As the Design-Build contractor, the team was able to apply innovative techniques and processes to complete the Homewood Suites project on an aggressive schedule, which allowed HRI Properties to begin offering rooms to New Orleans’ visitors.
When you visit The Eliza Jane, you take a step back. We worked with HRI Properties on this complex Design-Build transformation and completed it in 2018. The 114,000-square-foot project included the historic renovation, new construction, adaptive re-use, and brand conversion of six 1800s-era building features 154 upgraded rooms, 41 new guest rooms, a courtyard, a bar, public spaces, and a restaurant, Couvant.
