Canal Boulevard Improvements

About the Project
The RNGD Infrastructure team transformed a potholed, poorly draining street into a smooth and safe roadway. The overall project encompassed removing 170,000 SF of existing composite roadway and replacing it with asphalt roadway.

To begin the reconstruction work, the team first excavated 27,000 cubic yards of material. Next, over 4,500 linear feet of new waterlines, 8,900 linear feet of storm drainage, and 3,500 linear feet of sanitary sewer were installed. To rebuild the roadway, 12,000 tons of limestone and 14,000 cubic yards of sand were installed and then topped with 7,500 tons of asphalt cement concrete paving and three miles of pavement striping. The final result is 5,000 feet of smooth new roadway.
