Bainbridge Canal and Roadway Improvements

Stabilizing the Ground Beside the Canal
Along the Bainbridge Canal in Kenner, erosion has threatened more than the edge of the waterway. As canal-bank soils weakened, the adjacent roadway, drainage system, and buried utilities faced increasing risk. RNGD is delivering a deep-foundation and infrastructure program designed to stop that movement, rebuild the corridor, and protect the systems that depend on stable ground.
The defining scope is a new sheet-pile wall running along the canal. More than 3,875 linear feet are planned, with over 2,400 linear feet installed to date. Driven deep into the ground, the interlocking steel sheets create a continuous barrier that holds the bank in place and gives the roadway and utilities a more dependable edge.
That foundation work supports a broader reconstruction effort. RNGD crews are also advancing roadway, drainage, water, and sewer improvements, including waterline replacement and a new sewer lift station. The project treats the canal bank and the corridor beside it as one connected system, because long-term performance depends on stabilizing both.
