As Engineering Director at RNGD, Gabriel Cofield brings a career defined by precision, adaptability, and a deep commitment to building structures that endure. His path into the industry began in Pascagoula, Mississippi, where he developed foundational expertise in engineering design and technical documentation at a local shipyard.
In 2013, Gabriel relocated to New Orleans, where he immersed himself in the region’s unique engineering landscape. Through work with several small- to medium-sized engineering firms, he built a broad and versatile project portfolio spanning residential, commercial, industrial, educational, hospitality, and government facilities.
Gabriel’s expertise extends to designing for extreme conditions, including tornado wind loads and other demanding environmental forces, with a consistent focus on durable, resilient structural solutions. He has also contributed to civil and stormwater drainage design throughout the New Orleans region, navigating local site conditions and regulatory requirements with practiced confidence. Among his more distinctive projects are custom outdoor classroom structures and home elevation projects completed through the Louisiana Flood Grant Program.
An active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Gabriel brings both technical rigor and collaborative energy to every project he touches..
