As the Heavy Civil Team Leader, Bret Ellis brings over 40 years of experience to every project, leading his teams toward successful outcomes with a focus on safety, quality, and strategic implementation. Bret thrives on creating solutions and ensuring that every member of the team is aligned and prepared to execute a shared vision.
Bret’s career in construction spans both commercial and civil disciplines, offering him a rich and varied background in projects from hotels and restaurants to bridges and pump stations. With 15 years dedicated to civil construction nationwide and 25 years in the Gulf South commercial construction sector, his expertise has shaped some of the most prominent projects in the region. Notable projects like the Memoir mixed-use building in New Orleans and the Globalplex Second Access Bridge in Reserve, LA, are just a glimpse of his ability to manage projects of all sizes and complexities.
Graduating with a Bachelor’s in Construction from LSU, Bret’s journey through the industry has equipped him with a deep understanding of engineering design, project management, and execution. Throughout his career, he’s honed his ability to unify teams and keep projects moving forward through thoughtful planning, strategic problem-solving, and a collaborative mindset.
Outside of work, Bret is an avid dual-sport motorcyclist who enjoys exploring the country’s National Parks and Forests. He’s also passionate about woodworking, and above all, he treasures his role as a father and grandfather. His commitment to work and life is reflected in his personal philosophy.
