RNGD Earns 2025 ABC Merit Award for National Health and Safety Excellence
RNGD has been honored with the 2025 ABC Merit Award for National Health and Safety Excellence, presented by Associated Builders and Contractors at the 36th Annual Excellence in Construction® Awards during the ABC Convention in Salt Lake City on March 19. RNGD is one of only 59 contractors nationwide to receive the recognition — and this marks the first time RNGD has earned the award at the national level.
The National Health and Safety Excellence Awards recognize ABC member firms that achieved Diamond, Platinum, or Gold status in ABC’s STEP® Health and Safety Management System, reflective of their 2024 safety performance data. Award recipients are evaluated on self-assessment scores, total recordable incident rates, lost workday case rates, leading indicator use, and process and program innovations — a rigorous standard that reflects genuine, sustained commitment to workforce protection.
For RNGD, that commitment has a name: S.A.F.E. — Safety Always For Everyone.
S.A.F.E. isn’t a slogan. It’s the standard that shapes how RNGD plans projects, trains teams, and shows up on every jobsite. Safety isn’t raised when it’s convenient — it leads. From pre-construction through closeout, every member of the RNGD team, in the field and in the office, operates with this mindset every single day.
“This recognition reflects something we hold as a core value — that every person who steps onto an RNGD jobsite deserves to go home safe,” said Erika K. Bush, Esq., Chief Legal Officer. “S.A.F.E. is not a program we activate when it’s required. It’s how we work. This award belongs to the people who make that true every day.”
ABC National Board of Directors Chair Thomas “Murph” Murphy echoed that sentiment in presenting the awards, noting that this year’s honorees are “nearly seven times safer than the industry average” — a testament to the cultural consistency that drives top-tier safety performance.
